ABOUT THE ARTIST

Sandy Kimura began painting at a young age and her work as an architectural illustrator began more than two decades ago. Her interest in architecture and interior design grew. Today her work has evolved into many facets of art ranging from designing restoration projects and color scheming on new buildings to mural painting, trompe l'oeil, and canvas painting in oils or acrylic. Since 2001 Sandy has donated her talents to the Bellarmine Women's Council's Designer's Show House where all proceeds from the tour are donated to the student financial aid fund at Bellarmine. She has had numerous media credits including filming of painting techniques, interview by local newspapers, several local television appearances and awards for her design work including the 2003 Award of Honor by the Kentuckiana Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc., for the Home Life Building renovation at the Cherry Springs Center.
